STEERING COMMITTEE
HERN shall be overseen by a Steering Committee. This group will plan, coordinate, make recommendations, implement and finalize the overall direction of the initiative. It will include representatives from public and private organizations servicing the designated area.
All public and private organizations affiliated with the HERN will advocate for the initiative’s goals and objectives, as well as abide by the purpose and policies of this Steering Committee. Each individual Steering Committee Member will commit to actively participate in and promote HERN activities in the designated area, represent the needs and resources of the community and bring forth issues, concerns, feedback and recommendations for programs, policy and overall direction consistent with the mission statement; and meet as required with the complete steering committee.
Optimally, the Steering Committee shall consist of representatives from the following civic, governmental and business organizations.Faith-based Organizations:
- Faith-based organizations
- Persons formerly incarcerated and their families
- Non-profit Organizations
- Hillsborough County Government
- City of Tampa
- U.S. Attorney’s Office (Middle District of Florida)
- State Attorney’s Office (13th Judicial Circuit)
- Public Defender’s Office
- U.S. Probation
- U.S. Courts
- Florida Department of Corrections
- Public Housing Authorities (City & County)
- Legal Aid Services
