The mission of the Hillsborough Ex-Offender Re-entry Network (HERN) is to build a network of re-entry resources to support the returning citizen and to foster a continuous working relationship with service providers to meet the needs of ex-offenders transitioning back into communities within Hillsborough County. This network seeks to establish relationships with community, faith, and governmental agencies that can provide ex-offenders with basic needs (food, shelter, clothing), housing, education, employment, healthcare (especially treatment for substance abuse, mental health, and HIV/AIDS problems), legal assistance and mentoring.
